For the first time ever, Spartan moves the Ultra World Championship from Iceland to a new destination: Sweden! Join us this November for a journey of Viking proportions, in the land where only the toughest survive. Hosted by Åre Ski Area, this endurance event will give participants access to the resources and accommodations of an internationally renowned resort. Push yourself for 24 hours on 30+ miles of challenging terrain, knowing that once you’re done, there’s an outdoor hot tub with your name on it. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot the Northern Lights.
Get ready for the great expedition. An adventure that will push your body and mind.
You must complete at least 30 miles to be an Official Ultra Finisher in Sweden and to receive your Finisher Medal and Finisher Shirt. However, the looped Ultra course is open for 24 hours and you can keep racking up the miles within that time frame. You have the opportunity to stop in the transition area between each lap.
As the event nears, you will receive details like a suggested gear list and course map, but be prepared for a gritty 30 miles in challenging conditions. This is where you find out how far your body and mind can go.
If you are gritty enough to keep pushing, you have 24 hours to run as many laps as possible. The Ultra World Champions will be the male and female with the most miles racked up in the 24 hours. Everyone who meets the time requirements will receive special 24-Hour Ultra Finisher swag and lifelong bragging rights.
Thanks to the great facilities in Åre, there will be a 24-hour transition area for racers and spectators. This lively festival will be a place for racers to replenish and warm up, and give spectators an indoor location to eat, drink, and support their Spartan.
Join the Ultra racers for one lap of the Ultra course. Don’t worry, you’ll still get in a great workout in just one lap. How else can you truly experience Sweden’s Norrland?
This is the perfect option for someone who wants to be a part of the Ultra World Championship excitement but can’t commit to 30+ miles. It’s also a great opportunity for spectators who are traveling to Sweden to support their long-distance-loving friends. Get outside, experience a lap of the course, and go home with your own Finisher Medal and Shirt.
